I didn't see your question written on this sheet.  I can see the key says they get a 4 if they name 4 empires and describe trade, but the actual space for the questions was missing a question.  Maybe I am missing it!

I really like your map and the rubric.  It is very clear what is expected.  I had a hard time seeing where the lines went exactly.  Maybe that was just due to older age, or maybe just not having worked with geography in many years.  But if this is something that the students have worked with already, then I think it's a great problem/question.

Your assessment correlates well with what you are asking of your students. Your visual images is bright and useful. I wonder if students have seen this map or something like it before this assessment?
