CUES, QUESTIONS, AND ADVANCE ORGANIZERS Students will create a graphic organizer (on gliffy.com or a Microsoft Office program) to conceptualize powerpoint with content. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_JPjFqoqlh7MWtDRUVPeWYySEE/edit?usp=sharing)

NONLINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION As students, still in small groups, create their graphic organizer on the characteristics of an empire, they will come up with and include an image of their choice which they believe represents each concept.  This can be done in either gliffy.com or the Microsoft program they were using.

SUMMARIZING AND NOTE-TAKING Using the previously assigned powerpoint and graphic organizer, students will create a Prezi (prezi.com) re-stating the major characteristics of empires (in their own words), while also brainstorming practical examples for each.

ASSIGNING HOMEWORK AND PROVIDING PRACTICE Students will work on their multimedia assignment in the classroom and also as homework (the Prezi).  Students can easily reach me through technology/social media (email,Twitter, Facebook, Google Docs/Drive)

These are good ideas, Kyle.  You have incorporated a nice variety of tools in this lesson!

Using Prezi and PowerPoint in the same lesson is a good way for students to really get the differences between the two programs and maybe choose a favorite.

Just a side note, I like that you give students easy ways of reaching you using their preferred methods of contact!
