Suggested Text Reading: Chapter 2, pages 57-72, in “Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works, 2nd ed.”

Now that you have reviewed the strategies for best practice instruction in the category of Reinforcing Effort and Providing Recognition, you will continue to develop the Capstone Project lesson plan.  As you review the additional resources below, you will be trying out the various tools and selecting the ones that you will incorporate into your lesson. In this section of the lesson plan, you will develop the following:

  • Decide how will you use technology to define and Reinforce Effort for students with regards to your lesson objective(s) and create the artifact(s). For example, you might create an effort rubric using Rubistar or an effort survey using Google Forms or Survey Monkey.

  • Decide how will you use technology to Provide Recognition and create the technology artifact(s). For example, you might award badges via Class Badges or you might create a certificate using Certificate Street.

Be prepared to post your ideas to the Red Zone Discussion Forum by contributing links to show what you have created for student use and explaining how you will use the items in your classroom.
